Antimicrobial Preservative Effectiveness Test (Challenge Test)

The antimicrobial efficacy test evaluates the effectiveness of an antimicrobial preservative in the health, beauty, personal care, or cosmetic product. The test challenges the product with the known strains of the microorganisms.

Personal care and cosmetic testing samples are tested at different intervals to determine the survival of the organisms. The test shows the efficacy of the product to control and stop the growth of pathogenic organisms like Staphylococcus aureus, Escherichia coli, Pseudomonas aeruginosa, Candida albicans, and Aspergillus niger. The microorganism survival is monitored for 28 days.

USP 51 /I.P/B.P/E.P- Antimicrobial Effectiveness Testing

AOAC Use Dilution Test
The guidelines for testing surface disinfectant to determine the efficacy of disinfectants against three organisms, Pseudomonas aeruginosa, Staphylococcus aureus, and Salmonella enterica, on surfaces. The methodology is based on AOAC methods.

Following are different test :

Antimicrobial preservatives are added in the products to protect them from microbial contamination.

Antimicrobial efficacy test evaluates the effectiveness of an antimicrobial preservative.

Quality testing services are used according to the standardized antimicrobial testing procedures

JIS Z 2801 - Antimicrobial Test Japanese Industrial Standard Antimicrobial Testing

Antimicrobial testing of antimicrobial activity and efficacy for antimicrobial products e.g. tiles, hard surfaces, plastic etc.

USP 1227 - Neutralization validation

Test method (USP <1227>) to Evaluate Method to Neutralize the Antimicrobial Properties of a Product

This antimicrobial testing method is used to evaluate the methods to neutralize the antimicrobial properties of a product prior to estimating the number of viable microorganisms. The purpose of the antimicrobial test is to ensure the validity of the test results. For Antimicrobial effectiveness test and other microbial recovery tests studies can be set as per client requirement.
